ABOUT TIMELESS TRAVELS

Fiona Richards - travel archaeology art magazine

Timeless Travels magazine was the loving creation of archaeologist and publisher, Fiona Richards. Having graduated with a BA (Hons) in archaeology and law from Sydney University, Fiona went on to complete a PhD at Edinburgh, specialising in Egyptian scarab seals. She has spent over 20 years travelling and working throughout the Middle East and was Publishing Director of publishing company A&D Media Ltd for eight years.

In December 2013 Fiona decided to start a magazine which would focus on travel destinations based on an archaeological, historical or art perspective.  Her idea was to give the reader a more indepth knowledge of a city or site supported by such gorgeous photographs that readers would be inspired to start planning journeys of their own.

The magazine published 24 editions between August 2014 and March 2020 and featured in-depth articles written by specialists in their fields.

Fiona is the author of two books on Egyptian scarab seals and was thrilled to be awarded Journalist of the Year in 2018 by the Holland Tourist Board and Outstanding Article of the Year and Journalist of the Year by the Netherlands Board of Tourism Conventions in 2020. She is now an editor for World History Encyclopedia and provides bespoke designs for a small number of magazines and websites.
